The
78-foot Sportfisher from the North Carolina shipyard is the newest
addition to the builder's outstanding custom range and exemplifies
America's bravura in the domain of sport fishing yachts. This 55-ton
vessel carries nearly 2,500 gallons of fuel and reaches a top speed
in excess of 30 knots, so you can get to where the fish are biting
in a hurry. But you'll also get there in comfort - luxurious accommodations
throughout classify this vessel as a yachtfisher, a term recently
used to dub the hybrid boats that combine the luxury of modern yachts
with performance and purpose.
No
yachtfisher would be complete without a magnificent fighting chair
to adorn the cockpit, but they too come at a price, some comparable
to the cost of an economy car.
Powered
by twin 1,760 hp MTU 16V2000 engines, this custom version of the
70' series had already been launched with 1, 450hp Detroit Diesel
6V92TA capable of speeds of 27 knots. The interior has been graciously
decorated with a blend of silks and Connolly leather. Nothing is
amiss technically to satisfy the many comforts required by ones
guests. The salon has a plasma screen TV, DVD and stereo equipment,
as do all four staterooms.
Designed
for safety and comfort in even the roughest conditions, the 78'
Buddy Davis benefits from a strengthened tulip-shaped hull. Built for
the true sport fisherman in all its details, from the storage areas
to the propulsion system, the 78' is as responsive and manageable
as a 40'. Truly an exceptional yacht, the 78' Buddy Davis is offered at
around $3 million dollars.
